Well, Endless Field is the only book of hers that has been translated. It's a collection of 14 short (very short) stories about poor folk, mostly farmers, living in the Mekong Delta area. They're very bleak little snippets of these people's lives, and while it's not a big revelation it was interesting to me how, despite such harsh differences in culture and living standards and lifestyle, people's ideas and thoughts about life seem to be universal.
They're not masterpieces by a long stretch but I could recommend the book to pretty much anyone.
From what I understand by using Google Translate to read though Vietnamese online articles she published a new book just a week ago, I hope more of her work finds its way to the West.

Do any of you nice people know a thing or two about Asian, particularly south east Asian literature? Who are "the greats" of China, Japan, Vietnam, Korea etc? I'm looking for novelist/ prose writers specifically.
