Are jokes about philosophy impossible to do well? I ruined a date with a girl by trying to make one

>Virgin 27yo
>Only virgin because of the stoic school of mind I am in, as Marcus Aurelius said in his meditations 'I did not make proof of my virility before the proper season' something i want to do
>girl agrees to come over
>really like her and want the date to go well
>she likes philosophy as well
>as a joke write a bunch of quotes in a notepad
>idea is that the quotes start genuine and become silly and aggressive
>so the first 30 or so are just quotes from Meditations
>for example 'Remember how long thou hast been putting off these things, and how often thou hast received an opportunity from the gods, and yet dost not use it' and other stuff
>as the pad goes on i started to insert Deep Ecology quotes by people like Ted Kazcynski and Pentti Linkola
>the final few quotes in the book are mishmashes of deep ecology quotes and quotes from an article by David Benatar where he implies rape isn't that bad when sex is devalued
>so for example: 'The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for private sex between an adult and a willing child'
>give it to her to read
>encourage her to go all the way to the end
>she starts to go pale
>gets up and says she has to go

Is this my fault or are these jokes just impossible?
