I myself am an atheist, but I hesitate to call myself that because most of the times I will side with religious people and detest the whole new atheist campaign/movement.

You write well, but do you think that this is a place to have golden dialectics or scholarly discussions of texts? Well, it's not. I don't think you can properly discuss literature on an image board or by email, unless you have an extended and contemplative exchange. This is a place for people who like reading or theory or philosophy to blow off some steam. Sure, many dilettantes hang around, but even those serious about literature can have fun with the spectacle. I don't come here to have those enlightening conversations which are generally achieved over some hours face-to-face with another human. I come here to find links to Slavoj Zizek's Abercrombie and Fitch copy, to see live social critique, and, in a word, to lurk 4chan. If you're not sold, consider the fact that, despite anonymity, most people on 4chan treat arguments like sword fights, never open questions. They come here to blag whatever it is. So, give this thread a break, and let people share what books they've read this year, which is not at all an inappropriate topic. Who knows, one might say, "hey, was ____ a good read?" "Yes, you should read it, especially if you like _____." "Cool, thanx."
