There's multiple types of conservative. Liberal conservatives want to preserve things as the way they are, national conservatives want a stronger nation state to guard against the neoliberal global market, traditional conservatives want a return to pre-modernity, and conservative revolutionaries want to lead a revolution against liberal capitalism.

>he was a right-wing authoritarian that was opposed to liberalism, cosmopolitanism, and democracy.
Yes, he was a Conservative Revolutionary, which was a completely different school of thought than fascism.

Most of the Conservative Revolution is ignored inside the West today.

Schmitt was a Conservative Revolutionary, lots of interesting figures amongst them. Most of them disagreed or resisted the Nazis in one way or another.

Right wing thought isn't, it's just retards like Evola. There are good right wing thinkers, but /pol/tards are too autistic for them and latch onto memes like that paralyzed autist.

There's not much in the way of fascist theory. I guess the Doctrine of Fascism, Gentile, Mein Kampf, Myth of the 20th Century (which Hitler didn't even read), and other shit like that. What's far more interesting is the Conservative Revolution which gives you Schmitt, Junger, Spengler, and other interesting authors. The NSDAP appropriated a fair amount from them.

>since Schmitt is a fascist himself
Brainlet alert. Schmitt's support for the Nazis was entirely opportunist because it happened after 1933 and the SS kicked him out of positions of influence in 1936. Schmitt previously was arguing for the suppression of the Nazis under the state of exception by the Weimar Republic in his book Dictatorship. Schmitt was a Conservative Revolutionary, which influenced the Nazis in some ways but should be viewed a separate strain of thought, especially because most of those involved were either rejected like Schmitt, refused cooperation like Junger, or were outright killed.

>tfw Schmitt and Junger were bff's

Minus somewhat similar political views what else did they have in common?

Where do I start with German fascist and conservative intellectuals? Prewar and postwar

Also, can I start with Nomos of the Earth, or should I read Carl Schmitt's earlier work first?

Was he right? Does the friend/enemy distinction form the essence of the political? Is the liberal attempt to do away with this distinction self defeating?
