Stay with me until the end of my rambling post. Everyone knows that Nietzsche famously criticized Socratic rationalism for poisoning the Greek spirit with endless dialectic and killing Greek tragedy with his notions of full personal responsibility, rational moral philosophy and free will. Are we witnessing something similar with reddit wherein redditors kill the last remnants of spontaneous and soulful Internet culture? Take a look at this reddit thread

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/NotHowGirlsWork/comments/c6t99s/ah_yes_cause_being_born_after_1993_means_you_must/

In it redditors are criticizing the famous meme assertion that women born past 1993 are essentially useless as wives. Notice they never stop to ponder if there could be some truth to this meme and instead subject it to intellectual scrutiny. Anyone who has read a Socratic dialogue has had a feeling that sometimes Socrates' arguments are non sequiturs and this feeling resurfaces when we read the comment section of this thread. Redditors
>laugh at the idea that 1993 is supposed to be some special year (which is beside the point of the meme)
>criticize the author's grammar (which is beside the point)
>say there's nothing wrong with charging your phone battery (which again misses the point)
Their "arguments" very much resemble the ones used by Socrates and I bet their authors think of themselves as very cold rational and analytical thinkers who have BTFO le ebil fascist meme. But most importantly after I've read this thread I couldn't stand looking at the meme. My joy of life was diminished and I could no longer enjoy the clever witticism of this meme. Which brings me to my conclusion - redditors fulfill all requirements of being life-denying nihilists. They are possessed by the same daimon that possessed Socrates, both are moral absolutists who nonetheless believe in different moral systems (Socrates' perfection of man and attainment of the greatest good vs redditors' women's rights, equality etc.)

If he didn't want to escape that's one thing, but why did he have to be such a moralizing faggot about it?

>I know that I know nothing
this enrages and frustrates the NPC

Socrates had Athens like his little video game world, where he made all the NPC:s go haywire uttering this short phrase

Plato The Republic.

Socrates kind of pisses me off. I found myself sympathizing with the people that rage at him for being a little cunt.

>Ask someone what justice is
>When you do good to good man and ill to a poor man
>Rephrase question
>DOES A HORSEMAN MAKE A HORSEMAN UNABLE TO RIDE A HORSE?
>DOES ONE WHO ILLS A HORSE ILL THEM IN A MANNER OF A HORSE
>AND DOES ONE ILL A DOG IN THE MANNER OF A DOG HMMMMMMMMMM?
>Dude Socrates what the fuck are you talking about? Why don't you answer what justice is if you're so smart?
>HMMMMM I AM BUT A POOR IGNORANT FOOL WHO KNOWS NOT OF JUSTICE ;^^^^)))) ENLIGHTEN ME AND I SHALL CALL YOU THE WISER!!!!

It makes me angrier than it should.

Is there a book\saga worth of reading who mix fantasy (low preferible) archetypes and scenario with an ancient greek setting? Not some kind of "kill the gods" and myth things but things more incentrated on phylosophy, religion, society ecc...)? I was trying to do for my book and i wish to know more about it.

Did Socrates exist? And if not, why would Plato and Socrates' other "students" both talk about this guy.
