Pic related. It's short, funny and life-affirming. The Tennis Players is a pseudo-autobiographical account of Lars Gustafsson's time in Austin, Texas in the '70s. The protagonist is a guest professor at the university and teaches a course on Nietzsche and the Scandinavian 19th century.
It's a book about the relation between Europe and the US, Nietzsche vs. Wagner, the Donkey vs. the Elephant, Strindberg's Inferno, early computers, and last but not least – tennis.
