I thought it was just a meme /lit/!

A friend of mine bought this recently, she's not into poetry at all yet she wanted it and won't accept that it's god awful. Just flicking through it you see that the moody moron who wrote it just jots down whatever quick things pop into her head, without any effort to make it interesting. Not to mention the fact that she can't write in the first person without sounding like a retard ("i" instead of capitalised). What do you think? Is good poetry destined to die with drivel like this or is it just one sucky book?

I wanna hear /lit/ explain what makes a poet or a poem actually good

Why is it that even the most honest attempts of criticism of this shit heap is met with a horde of teenage girls foaming at the mouth? Does nobody understand how literary criticism works and how important it is to literature itself? I imagine this topic has been worn the hell out on this board by now but still I'm flummoxed. I'm willing to give her a chance and see if her work does grow into something that's even slightly decent but good lord this shit drove me up the fucking wall, especially the note at the end where she made a claim to being immune from any criticism.
