Read some kind of introduction to psychoanalysis the get the gist of what this is about. Then read interpretation of dreams. Then jump into Lacan trough Zizek (read Looking Awry).

If you have a basic understanding of Freud I recommend getting into Lacan.
Looking Awry by Slavoj Zizek is the best way imo. He makes it very entertaining by referring to popular culture (like books and cinema) to explain many of Lacans main ideas.
