is this really as good as some claim?
i attempted to read it (very lighthearted attempt) and then never resumed reading it after like 5 pages.
part of the reason is because i first checked it out on the train, and my stop arrived. another is because physical copies are hard to obtain.
and for some reason, i just find reading much more enjoyable with a hard copy.
but the fact that i havent been bothered to resume reading it may be an indicator that i just wasnt that drawn into it.
is this book overrated?

Is there any way to get a physical copy without spending hundreds? Maybe a rare book thread?

Why is this book so fucking impossible to find in print? It's been out of print forever despite being fairly popular, and when you do find a used copy of it, people ask like $100-$300. Does someone not want us reading this? If so, why?

Whenever I read a book, even if I enjoy it and I'm comprehending the contents inside, I tend to start day dreaming. And usually it's a slow process where it's one or two thoughts I indulge in and after 20 minutes or so I'm day dreaming and losing so much focus that a page that would have taken me 1 minute to read now takes 30 minutes because I'm thinking about other things so much. I'm sure it's due to a lack of focus or low mental endurance but is this problem common and are there are proven ways to fix it or be able to prolong the time it times until you start dozzing off so you can read for longer? Personal advice is worth it too.

Pic related is the best book I've read this year and one of my favourite books all year.

>When I was small, I would watch the young men parade the portable shrine through the streets at the local shrine festival. They were intoxicated with their task, and their expressions were of an indescribable aban-don, their faces averted; some of them even rested the backs of their necks against the shafts of the shrine they shouldered, so that their eyes gazed up at the heavens. And my mind was much troubled by the riddle of what it was that those eyes reflected....
>For many a month, therefore, the enig-
ma continued to occupy my mind; it was only much later,
after I had begun to learn the language of the flesh, that
I undertook to help in shouldering a portable shrine,
and was at last able to solve the puzzle that had plagued
me since infancy. They were simply looking at the sky.

Am I missing something? What did Yukio mean by this?
