Wouldnt that be at the beginning of Zooey when Buddy introduces himself as the narrator?

Also, to my fellow brohemian:

"There isn't anyone out there who isn't Seymour's Fat Lady...Don't you know that? Don't you know that goddamn secret yet? And don't you know - listen to me, now - don't you know who that fat lady really is?...Ah, buddy. Ah, buddy. Its Christ Himself. Christ Himself, buddy."

Why doesn't the /lit/ wiki have a romance category? We have horror, mystery/crime, and sci-fi. It would be good to have some sort of guide to navigate through all the shit and choose a book that has actual literary qualities instead of Fifty Shades of Grey or anything by Nicholas Sparks.

What she mainly cares about is finding meaning in life, finding wisdom, finding substance, and she doesnt see it around her save from her family every now and then. Shes going through an existential crisis and a crisis of faith, mainly, she hates others for not caring and she hates herself for hating them.

As far as her being overly sensitive, whatever floats your boat. I highly, highly relate to Franny, and am glad that I do. I personally would rather give a damn about something than not, even if it means that I will get hurt a lot more from time to time.

If you dont care as much as her about meaning and accepting others who you despise, thats fine, but I wouldnt call others who care more than you overly sensitive or dramatic. Theyre not putting on a show, they just care differently than you.

/lit/, ive seen these threads but never checked them out, and currently there isnt one up.

How does one get published? Where does one start? Is there an advised way to do this versus not? Does going to uni matter? If yes, does your major matter? Are there any resources outside of uni in order to become a "successful" author?

/lit/, I just finished reading all of Salinger's work and I really like it. Franny and Zooey was by far the best, though a few short stories are pretty damn close. What I like most about his work is that the characters really give a god damn about whats going on in their lives. Contrast this to de-attached Murakami

If I liked this, what do you recommend?

>Dead Yellow Women (The Jonathan Press, 1947). Paperback digest that collects six stories, including four that feature the Op.

What does "Op" mean in this instance?

>Dance, Dance, Dance

The best part about this book was the female characters and the protag's former classmate. From only 1 read-through I'd give it a 7/10. Do you care about spoilers? If not, I can be more specific.

>Sputnik Sweetheart
An acquaintance of mine said he liked it. Him reading this was what introduced me into Murakami

Unlike most of /lit/, I liked After Dark quite a bit. If you didn't, take this with a grain of salt.
