would you paint christ being tortured as some hunky dory beautiful spectacle

i want to understand them but they have that disease where they have to be obscure and impossible to understand like hegel and kant. I wanted to know how their philosophy effected art and what where their aesthetics because i know they wrote a book on Francis bacon, one of my favorite painters, but i just couldnt find anything, or understand it.
