Anyone wolfechads help me out here? In previous /lit/ threads people have always said that the claw's power was somehow the result of severian being able to wind back time to restore people or things to life, but reading this it seems to me the result of severian literally becoming the new sun, which somehow grants him the power to perform miracles. So are all the resurrections performed in the first 4 books the act of the future-sun severian traveling through time and resurrecting/helping his earlier self?

This book really flew off the fucking rails at the end.
What are some other books that go from riveting to “what the actual fuck is this rambling nonsense?” at the end?

Started reading Urth of the New Sun yesterday.
What an amazing series this is. I sort of forgot about the way everything is so mysterious yet vivid at the same thing

Just finished this and I'm so confused. The second half of this book is one cosmic reveal and metaphysical musing after another and I don't understand it. Can someone explain what the fuck happened? Also book of the new sun thread.
