Hello /lit/, Lit student here. Assigned a paper for which each student has to choose a philosopher who influenced the work of a literary figure.

There may be more obvious/easier route, but I picked Ludwig Wittgenstein and Samuel Beckett. Before I was given this paper, I had thought about writing my thesis on the relationship between the two.

I find discussion to be the best way to generate ideas.

If there is one, what are your thoughts on the relationship?

I think Beckett's work was influenced more by the later Wittgenstein (although Beckett claims to have not read any of it before doing the majority of his work).

Any thoughts?
