What i'm in for?

I just finished reading War and Peace. The novel was ok. The final 35 pages was tedious dirge where Tolstoy engages in banal philosophising. He also did that throughout the novel but it was usually a a few pages at a time of "we cannot know nuthin". Having it concentrated for 35 pages, along with historiography, was awful.

In terms of the bulk of the book it ended up focusing on a few characters and wasn't as ambitious as I expected it to be but that is fine, this was before pomo was invented and complication was put on the pedestal. I could tell at page 200 out of 959 that the book would feel mostly inconsequential and not add up to anything.

This book is as deep as the human condition but that is just the depth of a puddle on a summer day. God fucking knows how I can bear to read any more books about rich people talking on big houses.

Stacey marries nerdlinger for his money and then openly cheats on him while being loved and praised by society. Chad, Stacey's brother, causes a teen 9/10 girl to attempt to run away with him and abandon her boring but stable fiance.

Is this big boy actually a good material regarding military history and tactics during the Napoleonic age? Or is it more focused on the relationships between lovers?

Reading trough all this shit for THAT ending? What was Tolstoy thinking? Seriously, how were the last 100 pages even relevant to most of the story?
