I try to write in such a way that the text is format-agnostic. Hamlet, for example, could be changed from a play to a radio broadcast to a film without major rewriting. On the other hand, something like James Cameron's movie Avatar would not work in any other medium because it requires lush CGI and cinematography to work.

Some video games such as Tetris are coded well, almost Hemingwayesque, easily ported from one platform to another. Meanwhile, you have games like Halo that are such code spaghetti, it takes millions of dollars just to make them run on the next Xbox, and the lighting is still broken.
