God, this book was gay as all fuck. You don't even have to check the author, it's glaringly obvious that it's a woman. But it's nice to read something from a woman every once in a while. Especially from one who very clearly loves men. And it was a perfectly solid pulp fantasy. Nice world, nice atmosphere, excellent sense of classic adventure. Kindled in me some incredibly strong nostalgia for Albion, I'll probably have to replay that game now. Also Hesseth best girl.

From previous thread-
>David Drake. There's also his RCN books which are a Aubrey-Maturin inspired space opera series.

oh this guy, I hated those books. I read like two and had to quit- the premise sounds great but it feels like all he took from Master and Commander is that Aubrey hates foreigners and that Maturin is good at duelling, and then made two traits the only ones his characters have. Also Space-Britain has but a single planet so it's hard to understand why they're so smug.

Anyways speaking of badass covers this is an absolutely fantastic book
