I can understand that, to a degree.

I guess the only thing I'd say is that there's a lot you can learn about yourself from interacting with other people. I agree as well that many of the common topics are mundane and pretty draining--I'd like to think I'm a socially-engaged person to an extent, and I need breaks when I talk with people, because sometimes it's completely uninteresting or totally exhausting.

At the same time, you can find out a lot about yourself while also finding out about someone else. I know that's corny, but I have found it to absolutely be true. And if you pair that kind of interaction with the tools and skills you learn pursuing an interest, you can genuinely find yourself in the position of starting to become more than you thought you were.

Idk, again I know that's hokey, and if you have found repeatedly that social interaction of any kind isn't of any benefit to you, I think that's fine. There's more than one way to live, and the world needs people who are familiar with their own interiority in ways that most people can only dream of, or wouldn't be able to imagine. It's a genuinely important role that needs to be carried out, because as much as you can find yourself with people, you can forget yourself, too.
