How does them being rich detract from them supporting the working class? They could have taken the easy road and played capitalist on easy mode, but instead they choose to break the cycle. In this respect, it strengthens their position as they can't be labelled as "just another jealous poor person." Funny how marxists are often labelled as privileged rich people but simultaneously as also jealous poor people.
