As of late I've been wondering how, on the neoplatonic account, it is that our minds seem to change depending on the physical brain state we are currently experiencing. Is the answer some kind of parallelism? How is it that Matter seems to affect Mind?

Why did christian theologians still try to justify Trinity through incoherent mental gymnastics when Plotinus already refuted all their arguments before they were even born?

There is no YAWEH, Zeus, Allah or Odin, there is only the One, the Good, the unparticipated first principle that everything participates in.

Can anyone help a brainlet wrap his head around Proclus' theology? I managed to somehow get the gist of the previous neoplatonist, but Proclus takes mental wankery to a whole new level. Why did he add a whole new triad of Being-Life-Intellect between the One and the Soul?

>for potential to exist, actuality must exist first
>movement is a botched actuality because it is bound by time
>movement marks the beginning or the end of a cause
>if something is unmoved it must either have never produced actuality or it must have been eternally actual
>therefore if the Demiurge is unmoved he is eternal and so is the universe
What did Proclus mean by this? How is the universe as a whole on par with the demiurge which is purely intellectual?
