Do you read reviews, /lit/? Or do you just buy whatever catches your fancy?

I have a pasion for art and expresion in general (most film), but i havent dig into literature almost nothing, and i would really like to, would really appreciate if you can recommend me some musts.

What Is Your Favorite Book Series?

Assuming you're taking your time with a book and there's no rush to finish it, how many hours would it take you to finish approximately 1000 pages

I am moving to my appartment finally and I would love to fill it up with books. Literally A LOT of books. I dont have that many at the moment so I am wondering wherw I can buy a lot of cheap books online. I dont care if they are used, I just want to find a relible site that ships wordwide and that has low prices so I can buy more books.

Is it just me that find fictional books so boring? I would much prefer to read a book about political history or something than reading some boring story. I feel the same about movies. I would watch documentaries over acted movies anyday of the week. Am I alone with this opinion or does a majority share this?

Philosophers such as Hegel and Derrida and Lacan and Analytic philosophy as a whole is nothing more than an exercise in intellectual masturbation.

All it is interested in is progressing the semantics and pedantry of academia.

These "philosophers" have no interest in practical knowledge that we can use. It is useless.
