It's so fucking boring

This book. I got to it like most of people get into "their first book", by accident. Used to Harry Potter, fantasy, and science books, it gave a hard twist on my concept of what a book can be.
Although nowadays I'm stuck in the "I need to read more, I want to 'comprehend literature' and be a cultivated person" shitphase. With a bit of luck I'll soon be able to kill that maggot of nonsense that lives in my head and finally, be able to enjoy literature at its full potential.

Ask me anything, I guess - also pic vaguely related, it's the closest book to my novel that I can think of (no it's not about teen angst, just for the style of writing and apparent lack of plot)

Take a direction that you like. I think there are ways on the recommended reading page (sticky), then post back in this thread and maybe we have a suggestion to start out with.
Philosophy isn't really necessary in any way if you don't know it yet, so go ahead and start with what you like.

I can recommend almost everyone to start with Sartre. He's the one I like the most after all the philosophy I've read. If you like the idea, then perhaps start with Sartre's Nausea; it's a novel and like that you can combine your favourite hobby (literature of course) and your new lover: philosophy.

If you find yourself on feminism, don't just read de Beauvoir, but read secondary literature which handles both de Beauvoir and Irigaray. Otherwise most philosophy is best read from the philosopher himself.

I just finished reading this book, amazing.

I'm going to assume that no one has even heard of this book before, and because of that, I am disappoint.
