I want to thank all the animebros for having my back against these bullies.
When I first came to this board people were recommending me books like the ones here https://www.npr.org/2011/08/11/139085843/your-picks-top-100-science-fiction-fantasy-books
I tried some but couldn't make it past 10 pages because it was beyond my reading level and the lack of harems and video game mechanics meant they were incredibly boring.

Now I know there's nothing wrong with my reading level and it's just that pretentious douchebags here like to recommend authors like Bakker and Gene Wolfe because they think it makes them look smart.

So fuck you elitist gate keepers. Litrpg, xianxia, manga, webnovels, and lightnovels are all here to stay and there's nothing you can do about it.
