I'm an aspiring photographer and a friend of mine has just got his first ever publishing credit in a magazine. Knowing he requires some publicity material and that I shoot portraits he has tasked with providing him with some photographs that convey the image of an author. The brief is to make him appear intellectual and striking, academic scholar like. I had thought of taking him to a river and having him reading with a cup of coffee at sunset, but other than that I have no ideas. I didn't think a standard studio set up would be appropriate.
