Not exactly pulpy but a good vampire book. MC is a half breed.

It's a pretty long book (739 pages) but it flies by as you read it. The words just flow and there is plenty going on that it never seems to drag.

Plenty of action, plot twists and a variety of different characters. The story is told from two different timelines, one where the MC (Gabriel de Leon) is 16 and joins the order of Silversaints (a holy order that kills vampires) and when he is 32 some time after he has become a legendary hero saving the empire and having killed the forever king.

It is sort of like an interview with a vampire, it starts with Gabrial having been captured by the vampires and whilst imprisoned he is made to recall his life's story as one of the vampire historians journals it for the vampire Empress. There is a reason for this but it is a spoiler so won't say why.

The last couple of chapters felt a bit rushed and there was one plot twist that felt out of place, but overall A really good book. Hopefully the 2'nd book comes soon.

Damn this book is good. 80% through but I can definitely recommend it it.

Beautifully written, excellent pacing, great characters, good humour, dark, lots of action and not too much romance.

Currently reading this. Great pacing and solid writting from what I have read so far. Sort of like interview with a vampire but the other way around with a man who fights for an order of Vampire killers. Also a bit of Van Helsing and that type of thing.
