Attention writers: do you know these feels?

>tfw looking over the poems you wrote over the last two years and finding perhaps 3 or 4 that you consider worth keeping at all, most of which you have written recently and will probably soon hate too
>tfw you don't want to post poems on a blog so that you can submit them to magazines, but never submit to magazines anyway because you hate your work
>tfw you don't know people who like poetry either and hence no one reads your work who can offer you reliable guidance and whose opinion you can trust

What do you do in these situations and how do you deal with them?

Is there an escape?

>Hunger pangs.
>Feel like ordering pizza but remember that I'm on a diet.
>Decide to take a walk and see if anything catches my eye.
>Pass a swedish cafe.
>'What in the fuck is a Swedish cafe?'
>Walk in.
>"God kvall young man. Please, sit!"
>"What is this place?"
>"This is the hour of your demise."
>The fat Swedish man starts pouring coffee on my head.
>Wake up all sweaty.

What would be the best literary gift for a woman you are courting? I don't know what she likes to read. She's mentioned the fact that she wants to move to Africa to help the children someday.

Books as gifts? Bad idea? Flowers seem to be so overplayed.
