I'm almost done with the Grossman translation of Don Quixote.

This book is beyond words. I honestly feel shocked at how good it is, and how much of modern media I can see in it.

So, tell me, /lit/ - What do you think of the Knight of the Sorrowful Face?

Would any of you regard Don Quixote as a precursor to postmodern literature or even a wholly postmodern novel?

I've been neglecting don quixote for the past week now. Shame on me.

Hey il/lit/erates. I'm fleshing out my amazon wish list(s) for an upcoming give & get on here (~Oct. 2nd). I'm looking for some book recommendations. Which authors should I look into, if I love the following books (in no particular order)?

-Marquez's Hundred Years
-Chabon's Gentlemen of the Road
-Coelho's Brida & River Piedra
-Gaiman's short story anthologies
-de Cervantes's Quixote
-Dumas' Musketeers & Monte Cristo

Just a sampling of my bookshelf & Calibre list, but I'm hoping that based on these, I can be introduced to a new world of authors and affairs with books I otherwise wouldn't have come across.
