From her Patron page. It seems she's lost her selling gimmick: The 'edge' she had when she was fresh out of uni and getting lots of attention for youth protest pieces. Now she's a bit older, she's tired of having to work and submit an occasional article to the magazines and tabloids she works for. She wants to quit writing articles and go travelling full-time to write about whatever she finds interesting instead of what the public and editors want. She probably could afford to do this on her book sales alone, but naturally she needs to hire a 'team' so she doesn't have to be distracted by any of life's realities like phone bills and booking guesthouses. Also, funding her travelling will annoy "alt-right hatebots, apparently.
