'ate the road, 'ate the movie too, trust me its his worst book by far, blood meridian is absolutely beautiful and feels like it was written by a different author

Any good essays or books on gun violence in America from a philosophical perspective?

What the FUCK was that ending about?

Imo the man (the kid) was raped and murdered, but McCarthy's a dick and can't state that straight up.

The fact that Blood Meridian is constantly posted on this board as an example of difficult literature is proof that it has a high school reading level.

It's only "challenging" because it makes you think about the prose a little more than not at all. Everything you need to understand what's happening is given to you directly by the text.

Maybe watch Star Wars instead.

>tfw ESL
>tfw I always thought I had a pretty good handle on the language
>even read something like Frankenstein without really needing a thesaurus
>read pic related
>can't even picture what kind of canyon or whatever he's describing half the time
>can't discren the meaning of the judge dialogues hidden inside the paragraphs as the follow a "what is is but it is not not what it is because it is whereas it could be not if it was not so it is what it is" writing pattern
Goddammit I feel like a genuine retard. I don't even recognize half of the words and the way he writes makes me dizzy. Nothing's even happening, he just describes the fucking West. I was supposed to get some insight into humanity, not read a more well-written Western... I get the Judge's parrables when it's a proper dialogue piece, but when he goes from "he said then he said" to describing some other random fuck to then talking about the plains it all gets muddled.
