The problem isn't that it's a literature board full of assholes, blah blah blah. It's ON FUCKING 4CHAN. Everyone here is somebody that does enjoy reading books, but they're also somebody THAT BROWSES 4CHAN. Almost everyone here (maybe a few didn't, but fuck them, they damage the thrust of my argument) got to this place through the usual 4chan channels of obscenity, disgust, and a morbid sense of curiosity. I expected assholes discussing literature, with opinions varying between educated, informed, casual, absolutely ridiculous, and apeshit insane when I came to /lit/ 6 months ago, and assholes discussing literature was what I got.
