So I was thinking about honor.

What does it mean?

Honor
I
Honor means Merited respect; being esteemed
I
respect means Deserving recognition; esteemed means being held in high regard due to virtue
I
respect is Acknowledgement of a state or rank; virtue is good, and positive qualities of a person
I
Acknowledge of state or rank means the noticing of earned place that requires work to achieve (ex: belt in Jiu-Jitsu, or position at work; good qualities means truth, non-user, discipline, respectful, etc.


So this is my concept of Honor. Check it out and tell me if I went wrong somewhere, try to disprove me.

Donna Tart is a snake oil salesman in literary form. She is an advocate for an impossible ideal, impossible because it's so dishonest. She advocates for futile investment in your local diploma mill's humanities department, learning dead languages and useless things that will forever imitate "antique" forms, so her natural habitat is plaster and marble. Well, those stupid enough to follow her example can hope for a career between Barnes and Noble bookshelves, until their shift manager upgrades them to a pseudo barista or something. And even Donna Tart knows that. She could have learned Python, Java, PHP or something but no. Greek and Latin. And for what? Where is the pride in being useless, forever being out of tune with the civilization at large? One Chinaman's effort trumps her life's work when it comes to pure human potential.

/lit/ is back up. In celebration let's take a moment to appreciate this absolute peak specimen of female. I'm not saying Objectivism is the true philosophy but I'm not saying Objectivism is not the true philosophy.

Both disagree with Ayn Rand but the latter at least respects her while the former exhibits weapons grade butthurt and mental gymnastics in response to her.
So on that metric alone I know who to laugh at the least.

All of mathematics is a conceptual abstraction. That's straight philosophic in nature.
Are you under the assinine assumption that the mathmatical abstracts are existents? Even counting numbers are not existents. There is only on peice of math and one number in all of mathematics that is a literal existent and that is the number 1. All other mathmatics is an abstraction. 0, 2, complex opperations, all of it.
