The inherent Goodness of Humanity and Reason is probably the biggest assumptions. Human Rights and Equality. These aren't things to be proven, they're things that have to be accepted as axioms.

In the end, you can take any moral assesment from Christianity, and it will probably be the same in Secular Humanism. One side will declare their proof in Human Rights, the other in Jesus.

Christianity and Scientism hand-wave the misery of the world using identical dialectic. Individual words, what they call the basic causal agents, may differ but the two word models are one and the same.

Atheism is mainly Ontological outrage against abomination. The STEM aspect is almost irrelevant. It is no more against God than the Gospel of Thomas.

Individualism, whether in it's capitalist or psuedo-evolutionism form, ie "survival of the fittest", is a mistake because it acknowledges suffering as mandatory, as opposed to trying to end it once and for all. Individualism always falls back on to arguments of "realistic paths forward" and "saving the few over the many".

If we as a society give up on Utopia and Collectivism, then we might as well just kill ourselves. Propogation only causes eternal suffering, displaced from one generation to the next.

Marxism is kind of a reverse-engineered Gnosticism. Putting all Givens under grueling scrutiny, at first with Archonic dialectic, until it and the Givens collapse under their own absurdity, and the Subject is then gradually revealed to be the only truth and the only good.

I think the intention behind suicide is what matters.

If it is out of unrequited love of the material world then all bets are off - eternal recurrence, hell, eternal death, locked into oblivion, they're all on the table.

If it is out hatred of the material world, and especially hatred of its "pleasures", then real qualitative change should happen.
