Gave the first 3 books a read for the first time in my life over the past couple months, was a good experience. I feel like Ender's Game took a lot of inspiration from it.

The main plot feels secondary to the time and effort Herbert puts into describing the world and setting. It felt odd that it was almost secondary to that
