In what year did the majority of his fanbase turn against him? It used to be people like Neil Gaiman would come out and shit on people who complained about him being slow and most people would agree. Now it’s borderline consensus opinion among even his fans that he’s lazy and selfish.

This is actual retard shit. Applauding GRRM's writing for being 'realistic' is laughable.

I still believe that he’ll deliver a phenomenal ending to ASOIAF. It’s going to be nothing like the ending of those two Jew hacks.

George will dual-release Winter and Spring and he will blow us away with their quality.

>In years past, I would often do a Not A Blog post on or about New Year’s, looking back over the year that was ending and ahead to the year to come. This year, though, as I reflected on the year we had just lived through, I found I had no appetite for living through any of that again. 2023 was a nightmare of a year, for the world and the nation and for me and mine, both professionally and personally. I am very glad that it is over.

>Unfortunately, so far 2024 looks to be even worse.

>There is war everywhere. Ukraine and Gaza dominate the news, but there is a war in Myanmar as well that our western media just ignores, things are heating up in Yemen and the Red Sea, North Korea has nukes and is testing missiles and rattling sabres, Venezuela is threatening to annex three quarters of neighboring Guyana.

>Meanwhile the US grows more polarized every day. Hate is rising, democracy is under threat, millions of Americans have swallowed the lie that the 2020 election was stolen. Newspeak has taken over political discourse, cancel culture is destroying lives and careers, and we have a disgraced, indicted, venomous ex-president winning primaries despite openly declaring that he will be a dictator on day one and will govern on a platform of “retribution,” when he is not busy grabbing women by the pussy. His last attempt to overthrow the government failed on January 6, but some of his more ardent supporters are now saying that “next time” they will bring more guns. There are actually folks out there wanting civil war.

>It is hard to escape the feeling that we are living in the Weimar Republic.

>"Hard was the word men used when they spoke of Stannis, and hard he was."
>"Yes, I should have come sooner. If not for my Hand, I might not have come at all."
>"I am your man, Your Grace. So it is your tongue, to do with as you please."
>"From the south," said Robb. "But if we can attack from the north and west simultaneously, and take the ironmen in the rear while they are beating off what they think is my main thrust up the causeway, then we have a chance."
>Sunset found her squatting in the grass, groaning. Every stool was looser than the one before, and smelled fouler. By the time the moon came up she was shitting brown water. The more she drank, the more she shat, but the more she shat, the thirstier she grew, and her thirst sent her crawling to the stream to suck up more water.
>And suddenly his cock was out, jutting upward from his breeches like a fat pink mast.
>She was sopping wet when he entered her. “Damn you,” she said. “Damn you damn you damn you.” He sucked her nipples till she cried out half in pain and half in pleasure. Her cunt became the world.
>Rain lashed at his face, blinding him. His mouth was full of blood again. The ship groaned and growled beneath him like a constipated fat man straining to shit.
>Ser Alliser Thorne walked from the room so stiffly it looked as though he had a dagger up his butt.
>The three men were erect. The sight of their arousal was arousing.
>"Men call me Darkstar, and I am of the night."
>"Ten thousand of your children perished in my palm, Your Grace. Whilst you snored, I would lick your sons of my face and fingers one by one, al those pale sticky princes. You claimed your rights, my lord, but in the darkness I would eat your heirs."
>Tyrion reflected on the men who had been Hand before him, who had proved no match for his sister’s wiles. How could they be? Men like that... too honest to live, too noble to shit, Cersei devours such fools every morning when she breaks her fast.
>Her loins ached from the urgency of his love making. It was a good ache.
>It was pink and hard and when he sucked on it, her milk filled his mouth, mingling with the taste of rum, and he had never tasted anything so fine and sweet and good.
>The rain stopped and started again and stopped once more and started, but they had good cloaks to keep the water off.
>“Had there ever been a woman with nipples so large, so brown, or so responsive?"

This fat fuck is a prolific bad writer. He was never good. GoT was always trash, yes the tv show too. Golden Age arc from Berserk alone is deeper and better than everything this fat fuck ever wrote, combined, and it had only two main characters kek. I despise people who think he was ever good or even enjoyable to read. I blame this fat fuck for lowering the standards for so many. And no, Elden Ring is not the best Miyazaki game. If you disagree, kill yourself faggot

Why isn t there any pov chapters of a regular person living somewhere like the Riverlands.
A peasant whos life is changed by war and he has to join the army and all that.
Also because the winters are so long that means that there can t be any black people, even at the equator due to vitamin d deficiency.

I think he will finish Winds but that's it. It's a shame really because he's got something unique going as far as writing fantasy goes. He's no Tolkien but he's up there. I really enjoy the way he plays with his own symbolism and allusion, it's more than you would expect from a mere genre writer.

How do you get yourself motivated enough to get on with writing your novel? Do you set a daily or weekly goal so you don't fall behind? Or do you have a specific schedule that you always abide by?

A major theme in the series is that while being an evil backstabber (Tywin Lannister, the Freys, etc) helps in the short term, it neither inspires long term loyalty nor secures one’s long term rule. That is not to say that George R R Martin’s depiction of a medieval setting is very accurate (it isn’t. Most nobles and people in general were not so outwardly evil) but his depiction is not entirely cynical as some detractors have said.

If I pay money towards a series that both I and the author expect to be finished, then I am entitled to his next work. I am ENTITLED to TWOW.
