This is something I'd definitely like to dig deeper in.
What are your thoughts on this chart? Would you change anything?

To be honest Anon there really is no one psychology as far as I can tell. The discipline seems to lack an overarching unified theory. Modern psychology seems to be insecure about its place as a science and his heavily invested in appearing to be a hard science so it marginalizes the older more theoretical schools. From an outsiders perspective on modern psychology they are concerned with physical neuroscience and neurotransmitter mostly in the interest of simple diagnosis according to symptom clusters managed through drugs. This is in my opinion is biased by the shape of the business of explaining things in a way insurance companies understand.

That said here are some recs I have read or am going to read soon.

Introduction to psychology: Psychological Science by Mike Gazzaniga

Neuropsychology: Neuroscience: Exploring the Brain, Jones & Bartlett

Evolutionary psychology: Evolutionary Psychology: The New Science of the Mind David Buss

Freudian Psychology: Freud and Beyond Steven Mitchel

Jungian Psychology: pic related

If you want to go that route try However there are other approaches to ps

If you haven’t read the works of Carl Jung you won’t understand Hesse. Hesse books are all just novelisation of Jungian psychological concepts. By the way this thread is a synchronicity as Jews re reading Steepenwolf last night.

You know the glasses from They Live? Reading Jung is like having that for social situations. You finally understand what's going on with other people under the surface. Extremely illuminating and powerful.

Man and his symbols then his autobiography. Then start with this chart. However Jung in my opinion is not a thinker you should uncritically absorb. You should pair him with other thinkers . Both modern psychologists, religious scholars, and other philosophers and mystics like Heidegger and Guenon to get the most out of him. I see to many people becoming straight orthodox Jungians when the man himself said none of his followers totally understood his work. But this is just one amateurs opinion feel free to do what you want.

Any tips or techniques for utilizing the 'creative process'? I'm just sitting here producing horrible prose and cringing at my own bland vocabulary.

Also, requesting the meme of 'people who read vs people who write' because I feel like I'm going insane.

I'm seeking chart(s) on world history up to the Greeks. What humans were up to before recorded history, basically. Stone age/neolithic/hunter-gatherer stuff.

I got 'Guns, Germs and Steel' by Jared Diamond and it's a start, but not quite what I'm looking for (Diamond seems a bit too sorry about his being a white guy) and Harari's Sapiens is a last resort. Thanks in advance.

Must be a b8 chart to not have Joyce in there at all but all great works regardless.
/r/ing for a Victorian era politics chart or list. Anything concering domestic policy to foreign affairs.
