ITT: Fedora literature

What makes a book fedoracore? I can't describe it clearly, but it has something to do with every character being witty.

Pic related, one of the best most popular examples of fedoracore literature

I just came to /lit/ to make a thread - never really visit - but I saw this thread so I'll hijack it, just because.

I bought 18 books for $6.75 at a local library selling off a bunch of books given by a guy for fundraising.

25 cents per book, one $1 book and another $2 book.

I've already read some of them before I bought them but man, the price was good.

Dr Jekyl&Mr Hyde
100 More Puzzicles (shit's whack)
Caves of Steel
Foundation
Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul
Stephen Hawkings Universe
Life, the Universe and Everything.
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy - first edition cover, UK. Pretty old.

Edgar Allan Poes Mystery and Imagination, lots of stories.
Dangerous Pocket Book for Boys - much better than it sounds, contains national anthems, songs, battles, riddles, proper grammar, how to get a girl and more.

The Book Of Lost Tales pt1, very good condition for 30 years.

50 Great Ghost Stories, hardback leather.

Kefkas Stories Collection.

And this giant book that has a sheathe cover, American Aviation History

There's more of course but not as interesting.

I feel that the cover itself isn't all that amazing, but a novel that you grow up with holds a place.
This always invokes absurdity and fond, funny memories.

I want to start reading books. I feel like a lesser human right now. I don't do much of any reading, I can't play any musical instruments, I'm not back in education until almost October. I ride a road bike, lift weights, cook (mostly simple) meals, play video games and rarely, if ever, watch TV/Film. As for socialising, my current lineup of friends are pretty awful, as much as I love them, and spending time with them is a rarity. I just went on a date with a genuinely hot girl that I thought was pretty amazing - before the date. We both kind of lost interest afterwards, so I'm bitter about that, for the weeks we were chatting I was concvinced she was going to be the changing point for me. That's how things go. Bitches and hoes. Until October when uni starts I've decided socialising and relation-shipping can lick my balls. I feel cheated and broken.

This is not about my life's story however. Like I was saying, I want to read books. I've read some books, just not very many:

Lord of the Rings Trilogy
The Kingkiller Chronicles
A Song of Ice and Fire
The Shining
..Of Mice and Men. That was for GCSE English.

I've picked other stuff up, mainly fantasy/sci-fi - Dune, The Hobbit, pic related, some other Stephen King stuff - but I just feel so overwhelmed and by the time I've gotten through the first chapter, sometimes even the first few pages, it's so daunting that I just have to stop. I rarely pick the book back up again.

There are just so many god damn books that I haven't read, and I just don't know where to begin. I'm picking at scraps. I need some guidance. What do I do? What do I read?

Good evening /lit/. This is my first time traipsing about your board so I have no doubts that this is asked all the time. However, I have recently acquired an iPod and was wondering if you have any recommendations for audio books. It doesn't matter if they're quality readings of classics or simply entertaining renditions of trashy works. I'd just like something meatier than cheesy concept albums to listen to while on hikes and the like. Attached image is of course the obvious radio drama to listen.

So I just finished reading the fifth novel in the series a couple of minutes ago, and I gotta say that Douglas Adams is kind of a dick. I loved everything about the novels leading up to all of it, but, the ending was just so abrupt. I suppose I shouldn't go into this type of book expecting fulfilling endings and solutions but still, kinda took me by surprise. I know he isn't one to stick to traditional norms but that was unexpected. I think I liked it, I don't know, still hasn't sunk in yet. What are your opinions on the novels? And the ending.

Obviously this is gonna be full of spoilers.
