What are arguments against the argument: "the world is made of random particles moving according to fundamental laws, and so therefore there is no free will"? What should I read to be more literate in this crosssection of science/philosophy?

Hey /lit/. Not to go all tumblr on you, but I've been feeling kind of disappointed by literature recently. I've always thought that reading literature would somehow provide me some kind of special truth about the world, some sort of understanding, but I've been feeling that it mostly just gives a type of understanding of literature. I'm really bothered by the idea that literature is just high quality entertainment. Are there any books out there that gave you some sort of profound understanding or sense of it?

How do I get a comfy literary life /lit? All I want in life is to live in a place where literature isn't subtly shamed and where I can be around people who legitimately love the same things I do, but this seems almost impossible to find these days. There are barely any actual literary communities, even in the school I currently go to, which is good at English, but excels in STEM moreso. The only thing that I can think of would be a path to academia, where, if you're lucky, you would be immersed in an environment around other literary people who know what they are talking about, and where your job is discussing what you love and sharing it with (hopefully) motivated undergrads. But it seems like you have to be in the top 0.00001% to get this job, and I don't think that I am. Would working at a publishing company have a good environment? Is there any hope? Are we gonna make it? Feel free to share your own experiences, thoughts, hopes and dreams regarding this shit.

The true question is: Why should I?

But then again, I just don't because I enjoy
the stuff I like, the small pleasures in life... Of course, the negative stuff is way too much in comparison, but I'm still going to die anyway, right? So I'll try to enjoy as much as possible (carpe diem) within my rules.

At the end of the day it's just an emotional argument but I wouldn't claim my position is logical at all.
