Good books on how an individual constructs the world around him/her? I'd prefer non-fiction, but insightful fiction could potentially help me out.

what is it called when you have vague images that never happened, though they give the sensation of memories? certain music and weather is giving me this feeling as well.

i wish i were an artist of some sort, so i could capture this but otherwise i don't know what the fuck to do about it. why do anything about it? i don't know. it's a strange feeling and it makes me feel like i'm learning something more "true" to myself than anything else i'm currently doing with my life.
