I thought Less Than Zero was a bit weak, although worth reading. How is the sequel? I know it's a bit postmodern and metafictional, which I like.

I really don't think BEE is a bad author. Luna Park was good, and American Pyscho was really good.

Chapters about the author's writing or his life in general - good

Chapters about the sci-fi / horror stuff - boring as hell

It starts off focused on the former (the first chapter is great), and by maybe halfway through it seems to focus on the latter, which is dull. Why does he do this? I've almost finished it, although I admit, I look forward to having the mysteries solved.

Opinions on him?

I'm starting to like him, and don't view him as low-brow / trashy at all. I don't understand all the hate against him.
