>I want to become Christian, what's the most intellectual branch of Christianity to join?

you have the wrong mindset, religion i.e. Truth is not a RPG character you pick. either Jesus is your personal truth and hope or it isnt. Intellectual truth is not a personal truth (but there is nothing wrong with intellectual truths, its just lower tier). Do you believe in your personal Saviour Jesus Christ?

>muh trad

mind you, trad is not unimportant, but the most important thing to evaluate anything is truth. Jesus called himself The Truth, not The Trad, later christianity integrated itself in occident and became trad. But it being "trad" is not making it the truth (its the truth because its truthful), if occident became hindu or muslim, that would be "trad" from our own perspective as well.

Trad feeling, especially if its based in truth, is a good feeling, especially in times of post-modernism. So many are attracted to trad catholicism because of trad feelings but trad feeling can be based in not-truth which is the case in catholicism. Its because FEELS of trad, not because people search for Truth.

reminder that you will inherit the entire history of spirit and wealth of absolute movement in faithful devotion just by reading Kierkegaards Fear and Trembling and will climb the narrow and steep path of faith to an inner serenity and ownership over oneself and ones short, tragic, tender life that will repay you in a meaning and fulfillment that is divine and eternal.
or you can waste years of your life inhaling the noxious black clouds of clownfish ink Hegel sprays around his system to prevent those from realizing it is vacuous and devoid of substance.

Currently almost finished with Either/Or, and have been having a lot of great personal revelations about my behavior and my inner disquiet. While his poetic ability is remarkable now that he's becoming more explicitly more philosophical (I'm at the Aesthetic Validity of Marriage) I'm beginning to struggle to grasp his ideas firmly.
Should I just power through and then go on to Fear and Trembling/Sickness Unto Death or are there any K scholars here that can recommend me some secondary lit that will help me along my path? I sincerely feel like he really understands me and has shown me my faults at a fundamental level, yet now I'm struggling to follow further.

>I've tried desu, it doesn't work.
>I'll keep the humble lifestyle part though and meme it up with the Greeks. Not a bad alternative.

well, I agree that stoicims is better than postmodern noir, but there is nothing higher that the life of faith in Jesus Christ.

I pray that you will see the truth in Jesus in your lifetime (in case you saw it already but havent rationalized it as such) - I know that its not entirely by your own choice. God bless anon!

this. Just pray so God can open your eyes so you can belive in the Gosple of Jesus Christ. "Leap of faith" is a funny term, you dont exactly "choose faith"...at least not completly.

>Social science my friend. Go on /pol/ or any reactionary web forum and observe how fucking whiny and easily offended they are, despite claiming otherwise.

same can be said for treehuggers, but unlike non-egalitarians treehuggers dont have science on their side

>>7807077
>To even entertain that possibility, we would have to first establish the existence of this fictional entity, which is a bit too much of a leap of faith.

incoreect, you just have to know some philosphy to KNOW that God exists for instanc like this >>7807050 but that doesnt make you a Christian, because you have to BELIEVE in Gods word to accept God who is Jesus (the difference Kierkegaard understood perfectly unlike simpleminded theologians of his time).

King James, it's not even a competition.

I don't care that newer versions are more accurate, or that its promoters fellate themselves all day to that fact.

There is truth in beauty, and beauty in truth; the KJV is by far the most beautiful in terms of language.
