what is the biblical consequence of evil? any scripture about that?

As someone who is non-religious, I find it unlikely that Jesus Christ came back from the dead, are there any theories as to what happened between his death and him waking up?

It's worth noting that one of the central points of contention in a theory of justice is exactly whether considerations about incentive structures, deterrence, and effects on crime rates are appropriate considerations at all. There's been a lot of debate, for example, among Kantians over whether a Kantian can ethically use deterrence as a justification for punishment (this debate has led to strange compromise positions, like that legislators but not judges can use deterrence as a justification).


Restorative justice advocates generally speaking don't think that the purpose of the law is to impose incentive structures that control human behavior. The point of the law is not to make ethical behavior align with self-interested behavior. It is just to describe what the coercive power of the state is to be used for and how it is to be limited. A restorative justice advocate will probably tell you that "making ethical behavior and self-interested behavior align" is just not a good idea for a use of that power.

Why would you want to make those two align? Well, one reason might be that it (supposedly; evidence here is ultimately pretty spotty) drives down crime rates. But restorative justice advocates would respond in two ways.

If I have a problem, I might google bible stories about.....whatever it is, especially if I can't think of any off the top of my head.
