After procrastinate it for a year or so I've just returned to the gym today, as an impulse like "get your fucking ass to the gym faggot"

The problem is now I'm a hard smoker, I'm over a pack in a single day.

Thoughs?

How can I comprehend something I just read better? I have to summarize a article I read for class, and I have no idea where to start. I know its about some guy who had polio, and he did a lot of pushups, and dips and shit, and now has a family, but idk what was the point of it.

Please help me understand, reading better. This always happens when I read something I'm not interested in.

Please recommend audio books I can down load and take on a long trip.

I like offkey stuff within modern culture(essays and stuff) and philosophy and sociology.

The last Audio books I listen to was:
something by Terence Mckenna = ok
Superfreakonomics = Good
Owl City by Klosterman = Good
Generation Kill = Good

more along these lines. Both higher and lower brow.

Ok, so as a spin-off from the De-con thread, can we have a more general theory discussion? What kinds of schools do like get a kick from, who is your favorite theorist, within literature and philosophy, etc.?

Lately I've been trying to read up on MacLuhan (the Gutenberg Galaxy) and find his theory of media very interesting.

I've also spent some time on the problems of nihilsim, from Nietzsche to Heidegger to Beckett to Derrida to Vattimo understood as a relation between language, meaning and being and the idea of the subject.

I've also been quite preoccupied with the relation between drugs and literature and would recommend Marcus Boons "the road of excess" and Sadie Plants "Writing on Drugs" as very encompassive and comprehensive introductions on the subject of literary history through the objective of drugs.
