Socrates: and so dear Glaucon, whose name reminds of what the Oracle at Delphi once said of our distant ancestors' offerings to the Gods, would one buy from a domestic supplier in bulk?

Glaucon: No Socrates, I don't think one would.

S: Then from whom, would one buy, my dear friend?

G: From a merchant like Alibaba or another oriental such seller.

S: And this is because they are cheaper?

G: It cannot be denied!

S: and this is despite shipping?

G: Yes, Certainly

S: Very good, and now Glaucon, we appear to have, as the Boetians say, grabbed the bull by its horn, but to ensure we have not grappled with a hornless donkey, please answer - do we set up auctions or just sell directly?

G: Well Socrates, I think an auction would take too long, whereas if we just put the desired price, we can ensure we always make a per-unit profit.

S:It appears that is so Glaucon.

How do i efficiently take notes on what i read?

I tried simultaneous note taking (like bullet points of each poimt the author is making - occasionally with personal annotations like 'this does not agree w/ what was said wrt to' or 'similar to _' whilst reading but it slows the reading rate down a lot and i'm not sure it gifts me much additional retention.
Eg ive been stuck on a book fot 2 months notetaking that i could read cover to cover in a week and i'm not sure how much deeper i understand it

should one read several books simultaneously? or just put all resources into finishing a single book?

i suppose this is particularly pertinent if the books are being read for the same reason (eg two philosophy books) whereas is less of an issue between say a novel and something like the US constitution
