I want to start a religion.

I'm charismatic, attractive and articulate. There are people who easily follow my ideas, but as soon as religion comes into it people give negative feedback.

What I'd like is some opinions on is how viable it would be to start a religion knowing full well the god is little more than a representation of ideas. Assuming the values the belief system provided were in line with you having a better life, would you be against the idea of telling people you believe in a god that nobody has heard of before?
