Hey, /lit/, does anyone else consider this literature?

I personally think that this game, even when stripped of the game play, is an excellently crafted masterpiece of storytelling through vignettes. Plus, arguably the entire storytelling (save for its twist and climax) is told through poetic prose and narrative. I mean, it contains all the necessary elements of literature, so why not?

What's your opinion?

Everyone here should play Braid if you haven't. It's an excellent old school type platformer that deals with altering the flow of time in really unique ways. It also has something of a "hidden" story presented in a really interesting way that lends itself to a lot of contemplation even after you've finished it. It's short but very memorable and also has fantastic music.

I got it on steam for like 4 bucks or something. Very highly recommended.

While we're on the subject. Braid is a really bad example of how to tell a story in a video game.

Everybody praises it as some sort of artistis achievment, but the story was delivered in disjointed bits of text that were so ambiguous and unimportant to the gameplay that made it impossible to care about it at all.

It was still a fun platformer, though.
