It is my favorite Mishima book. One of the few books that have made me weep. I had to stop reading it at times just to reflect upon my own life, because I could see my own struggles and experiences reflected on it.

I don't know if I would consider myself as perteining to an abrahamic religion, but I'm culturally catholic, have somewhat conservative/right wing views, and still see same-sex attraction as some kind of tragedy I'm cursed with.
I read "Confessions of a Mask" from time to time for cathartic reasons, keep diary, and recently started to work out to turn those feelings into something positive.
