He probably smells weird, like microwaved samosas, and it's likely impossible to hold a conversation. If I met him I think I would unconsciously try to bully him but that's my fault, not his. Serotonin was much better than Submission in my opinion. His weakest books are his ones that read more like sociological theses than novels, namely Whatever, Platform, and the aforementioned Submission. His best are clearly Elementary Particles and The Possibility of an Island, which I think form a diptych of sorts. I've read everything he has written (except for this novella Lanzarote, I've never even seen it in an English bookstore, although Amazon assures me there is another hideous Vintage edition) and I will read anything new he puts out. I guess I'm just that gullible.
