Anyone happen to have a pdf of 'Beauty Queen of Leenane' or any of other McDonagh works? #bookz has nothing and I can't find it on tbp or isohunt.

General McDonagh and 'in-yer-face' theatre discussion too, I suppose.

I've just finished reading Sarah Kane's '4'48 Psychosis' and my lord was it powerful. Blasted had a similar effect and I'm intrigued if she managed to maintain that horrifying standard throughout her tiny body of work. I recently watched a performance of Shopping and Fucking and I got the impression that it embodied the bad side of 'in-yer-face': heavy-handed, over-wrought w/ an extremely boring subtext. Oh noez, post-modernism and consumer culture has deadened our sense of beauty! Let's try and fucking hammer that point home.

I was recommended a Hungarian poet called Sándor Weöres a while ago. Have you read him OP? His Psyche poems look interesting.

Also, my favourite English novel is probably To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf.

I read To the Lighthouse, loved it. I'd call it my favourite book.

Started Mrs Dalloway and it was some boring ass shit. Put it down after 30 pages or so.

Read Jacob's Room. Pretty cool, nowhere near as good as To the Lighthouse though.

Does everything become an anticlimax after one reads To the Lighthouse?
