Buddhists deny that Parinirvana is an eternal extinction of the individual soul, because preaching that others should eternally annihilate themselves makes Buddhists seem like dumb assholes. But of the Buddha's teachings if this is not the interpretation, then in consigning consciousness to transient aggregates and in denying that anything of the being continues on into Parinirvana why did he imply that this was indeed the meaning of his dictations?
