But that's all besides the point the real question I wanna ask is what're some good books on German New Wave cinema? So far everything I've watched has been Fassbinder and feminist stuff that's overly concerned with what Germany is. It's not like I hate Germany or anything, I've liked the DEFA films I've seen, pre-war stuff, a couple of nice rouble films, and post wall stuff I'm just watching (run Lola run was fun) but outside of Herzog this New Wave just seems overly concerned with itself. It makes me make a face like pic related.
