Do you think that thorough studies of history are the only way to become a truly educated, erudite person?

I mean, just look at the span of things history as a discipline can cover

>political history
>social history
>history of philosophy
>history of science
>art history
>history of literature
>history of economy
>history of culture
>history of religion
>history of linguistics
>alltaggeschichte (history of everyday life)
>military history
>history of music
etc, list can go on and on

To even gain access to any of these fields the one must first become thoroughly familiar with their content and must memorize a gigantic amount of information about huge variety of things.

Probably the most perfect way to "know everything".
